2023 Regulations
ARTICLE 1: PREAMBLE
Any registration to the YOTTA events implies that the participant has read and accepted the rules of the event, which can be downloaded from https://www.yottaxp.com/, as well as those of the French Triathlon Federation (https://www.fftri.com/), and that he/she agrees to respect them.
ARTICLE 2: CATEGORIES
To participate in YOTTA XP ELITE, XP or XPS, you must be at least 18 years old, i.e. from 2005.
ARTICLE 3: EVENTS DURATION
- YOTTA XP Elite is a sequence of 1km swimming and 8km walking with a start every hour for men and +5′ for women, repeated maximum 5 times if the athlete has passed the cut-off, which decreases by 5′ each round (i.e. 1h for the 1st round, 55′ for the 2nd round, 50′ for the 3rd round, 45′ for the 4th round).
- YOTTA XP is a sequence of 1km swimming and 8km walking with a start every hour for men and +5′ for women, repeated maximum 3 times if the athlete has passed the cut-off, which decreases by 5′ each round (i.e. 1h for the 1st round, 55′ for the 2nd round, 50′ for the 3rd round).
- YOTTA XPS is a sequence of 0.5km swimming and 4km walking with a start every 40′ for men and women, repeated maximum 5 times if the athlete has passed the cut-off which decreases by 5′ at each round (i.e. 40′ for the 1st round, 35′ for the 2nd round, 30′ for the 3rd round, 25′ for the 4th round).
ARTICLE 4: SWIMMING
For safety reasons, wetsuits are compulsory below 16°C, authorised from 16 to 24.5°C and forbidden above 24.5°C.
Goggles, sweatshirts and pads are allowed.
All other breathing, propulsion and flotation aids are forbidden.
As the race is precisely timed for each round, it will be impossible to recall swimmers for a stolen start, the penalty for a stolen or early start will be disqualification.
ARTICLE 5: TIMING, FINISHING PROTOCOL AND RESULTS
A general and age group ranking will be established by category, according to the actual time of each athletes, in the final ranking of the rounds raced.
If only 20 athletes achieve the 5th round, they will be the first 20 racers in the general ranking, the 21st will be the first one in the general ranking of the 4th round and so on with the 3rd, 2nd and 1st round.
For the 5th and final round, all athletes classified with less than 10 minutes behind the 1st in the general ranking at the end of the 4 round, will start a pursuit of the leader with their time delay. All other athletes ranked with more than 10 minutes behind, will start 10 minutes later.
In theory, the winner of YOTTA XP will be the first to cross the finish line. Nevertheless, the timing system will ensure an accurate calculation at the end of the 5 rounds by giving all competitors above the 2nd place their delay time at the start of the pursuit.
ARTICLE 6: PRIZE-GIVING
66 500€ will be equally divided between the first 10 men and women in the general ranking of the 5 rounds.
An additional bonus of 10 000€ will be awarded to the first male athlete under 35′ in the last round or 40′ for the first female athlete.
